Alpha Psi Nu Fraternity, Inc. was birthed from a place of power, resilience, and intentional purpose. I knew I wasn’t the only one searching for a space where we could be exactly who we are. A space for masculine-presenting women to be seen, heard, respected, and valued.

I co-founded Alpha Psi Nu to fill that void — to provide community, connection, and purpose. This isn’t just an organization, this is a lifestyle. It’s about showing up, not only for ourselves, but for the generations coming behind us who deserve to know there’s a place for them.

I founded Alpha Psi Nu Fraternity, Inc. out of a real need — one rooted in the deep desire to be seen, to be understood, and to belong. As someone who didn’t always feel accepted or affirmed in other spaces, especially coming from a strong religious background, I wanted to build the safe space I never had.

I didn’t create this because everything in my life made sense. I created it because too often, it didn’t. I knew what it felt like to move through the world with parts of myself unseen, misunderstood, or pushed aside. So I created a space that reflects me and people like me — and now, it reflects us all.

Essence 

Founder 3, known as Essence, embodied kindness, passion, and realness. She brought warmth and wisdom to our founding journey and was always quick with her signature phrase, “good sh*t.”
Essence helped shape Alpha Psi Nu into a space rooted in authenticity and compassion. Her legacy inspires every service project, every line we cross, and every bond we form. She reminded us of the power in softness and strength coexisting. Though her number is retired, her light continues to guide us.
